Photography has been something I've been facinated with since I got my first camera when I was 10 or so. It was one of those cheap cameras which accepted a film cartrige. I believe it accepted 110 film rolls. I had gotten it from a cereal box. Since then I have recieved or purchased many other cameras.
- 198? - 198?. Toy Camera: no longer own. This one toy camera started my facination with photography.
- 1993 - today. Minolta SR-T 101: I still have this one, still love using it.
- 1995 - 199?. Yashica Electro 35 GSN: I had the Yashica for a year or so, found it in the attic, I liked the camera because it was simple. Unfoturtunatly I seem to have lost it to the gremlins in the closet.
- 1996 - 2001. Sigma SA-5: The Sigma is the first camera I bought for myself. It was and will be by far my most enjoyed camera. As this was the camera I used through out my college years for all my photography courses.
- 2000 - 2003. Sony DSC-S70: The first forray into digital. I got the Sony the day after I recieved the first bonus I had ever recieved. Although the camera did the job, and has helped me capture the early moments of my adult life. All in all, this was one of my least favorite cameras. The feal of the camera was good, but because there was no anticipation of receiving negatives or waiting for the prints, I knew I had lost something from the days of film.
- 2001 - today. Canon EOS Elan 7E: The 7E was my second SLR camera, but the first one which I bought with more than one lens. When I got this camera, I had also purchased the EF 35mm F/2.0, and the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (both of which I continue to use today). Also, I had decided to get a new SLR because the Sigma, though a good starter camera, I felt was holding me back (also after many years of use, i finaly had noticed that in comparison with the tried and true T101, the Sigma was under exposing all my pictures making the darkroom a pain).
- 2003 - 2005. Canon Power Shot S400: This was another camera which though used, did not leave a big impact on my memory. Unfortunately LCD of this camera broke, as best as I can tell it was a defect of the LCD, and not much else. Ever since, I've never gotten the extended warranty, because the baffoons at BestBuy would not honor their end of the agreement.
- 2004 - today. Canon EOS 20D: The darling of my current eye. Though I still try to shoot lots of 35mm film (exlusively B&W), the 20D is by far nicest camera I have. Thankfully, I've been able to re-use my lens from my Elan 7E which has been nice. I've also been able to add new lenses, though normally I stick with the EF lenses as I plan to eventually get a full frame sensor camera.
- 2007 - today. Panasonic Luminx DMC-LX2 (same camera as the Leica D-Lux 3): Since 2005, I hadn't had a small digipix camera and since lugging the DSLR doesn't always make sense, I purchased the Lumix. I have to say, I really like using this camera for quick shots, and for more composed pictures as well. With 10 megapixels, and a 16:9 sensor, this camera can compete with some of the pro-sumer cameras on the market today.
- tomorrow. Currently I have my eye on the Canon EOS 5D. As a full frame camera, I believe this would do just fine!
